My Soul Once Said

Though I Hadn’t The Inclination

My soul once told me

– though I did not believe

there’s nothing between

what we see and who

we inaudibly are

My soul once screamed

– though I hadn’t the patience to hear

that this feral and fecund would

would give birth to eternity

on this very night

My soul once begged

– though I dared not heed it’s calls

the truth of the present shall

rend the veil from the face

of time that hides your love

My soul  once painted

– though I hadn’t the eyes to see

the kaleidoscopic visions

to color the history of man

with the love of women

My soul once preached

– though I hadn’t the mind to understand

a heart filled with hope

combined with a soul of love

would remake the world of beauty

My soul once told me

–  though I did not believe

all that we are is no

different from all that we gather

through this indifferent life
